Alive for Me
I put my fingers through your hair
Watched you sleep
Wondered if you were dreaming of me
Of us
This time or ever
You say you never remember
So I can only wonder
If your night thoughts
Are as intense as the ones
I am having right now
Looking upon you
Your hair tossed about your head
Little brown wisps framing your face
Eyes lined dark
Fading into smoky rings and streaks
From make up you never cared to remove
And never needed
One arm dangles along the side of the bed
While the other rests
Upon your bobbing chest
Up and down
Up and down
Up and down
Alive for me
